Pampering series are two videos made during lockdown related to the sanitary crisis of 2020. Both Necrocosmetics of power and I need a haircut employ aesthetics, or better said, cosmetics, to raise specific social issues.

Necrocosmetics of power

power’ is a visual essay that departs from a specific matter as it is the invention of anti-rape nail polish. This product, which at the end was never launched, works as an excuse to talk about male-dominant culture and how violence is impelled through aesthetic and cosmetic prothesis which responsibilize the victim. The concept of necrocosmetics, derived from Achille Mbembe’s term necropolitics, brings us closer to all those mortifying techniques that go against women’s bodies.

The format of this video is square, adapting to the size of Instagram’s feed, so images remain circulating on the same network they were taken from.
